IRFU urges fans to confirm authenticity of tickets following report of fraudulent digital sales
The safest way to confirm the authenticity of your tickets is to access them directly through your Irish Rugby Account Manager or Ticketmaster account
Ireland Rugby supporters heading to Aviva Stadium on Friday night have been urged to confirm the authenticity of their match tickets for the Nations Championship clash with Argentina following reports of fraudulent digital ticket sales.
The warning, in the form of a letter to supporters from the Irish Rugby Football Union is in place for all three of Ireland’s home matches this month, with games against Fiji on November 14 and South Africa seven days later on the 21st.
“We are writing to make you aware of an increase in reports of fraudulent digital ticket sales targeting rugby supporters ahead of upcoming Ireland internationals,” the IRFU said.
“The IRFU has received a growing number of enquiries from fans who purchased digital tickets through unofficial websites or social media advertisements, only to discover later that the tickets were not genuine.
“As a reminder, the only authorised sources for Ireland match tickets are Irish Rugby Account Manager and Ticketmaster. No other ticketing or resale platforms are authorised to sell Irish Rugby international tickets.
“The safest way to confirm the authenticity of your tickets is to access them directly through your Irish Rugby Account Manager or Ticketmaster account.”
