As it happened: Ireland do the business against Spain to close on quarter-final spot

80 mins: Defence down the blind a continuous issue for Ireland today off lineout. Spain execute a good lineout move to finish on a try.
80 mins: Spain celebrate a try but will it count? It looks like it does. Spain threw to the front of the lineout and went over in the corner. There were doubts about whether the throw had gone five metres.
80 mins: Ireland burst clear off the scrum but Spain win a penalty and kick to the corner.
79 mins: Moments before Ireland were about the kick off, the TMO spots a knock on in the build-up to that Spanish try. The try is ruled out and we'll go back - way, way back - for an Ireland scrum.
78 mins: Try for Spain! Great attitude from Spain and they get over in the corner. The conversion goes wide.
75 mins: Spain get a shove on the Ireland scrum. They're under pressure but Brittany Hogan does superbly to relieve pressure, and earn some space for Breen to make the clearing kick.
74 mins: Ireland prop Ellena Perry is named player of the match.
71 mins: Ireland fail to deal with another kick-off. This time, Enya Breen knocks on. Spain have a scrum in the Ireland 22. Spanish pressure ends with a knock on. Ireland have a scrum on their five metre own line.
70 mins: Well worked team try by Ireland.
69 mins: Try for Ireland! Anna McGann gets her second try of the game and Ireland's seventh. Enya Breen kicks the conversion.
66 mins: A sustained period of Ireland attack, with penalty advantage, ends with the ball going into touch. Ireland decide to take the lineout.
62 mins: Some changes for Ireland: Nancy McGillivray is on for Aoife Dalton, Enya Breen replaces Dannah O'Brien, Sadhbh McCarthy comes on for Linda Djougang, Siobhan McCarthy for Ellena Perry, and Neve Jones is on for Cliodhna Moloney Macdonald.
61 mins: Good power and individual strength at the line by the Spanish. Spain keeping a foothold in the game.
60 mins: Try for Spain! After going to the TMO, it's decided that was a legitimate try by Spain's Lourdes Alameda. They have a try scoring bonus point. The conversion goes wide.
58 mins: Spain win a lineout at the front inside the Irish 22. They knock on but have an advantage for offside. Spain get over the line but it's held up. The referee goes to TMO saying the on-field decision is no try.
56 mins: Moore strikes again after good close carries from the Irish forwards. Much better set piece from Ireland this week giving them a good attacking platform.
55 mins: Try for Ireland! Grace Moore gets her second of game. She gets low and busts a hole in the Spanish defence. O'Brien successfully kicks the conversion.
54 mins: Ireland have a penalty advantage. O'Brien kicks to the corner.
53 mins: Spain fail to deal with a Dannah O'Brien Garryowen. Ireland in a good position on the Spanish 22.
51 mins: Spain have a lineout in the Ireland 22 but Corri-Fallon gets fingertips to it. A change for Ireland at scrum-half with Scuffil-McCabe going off and Emily Lane coming on.
47 mins: Ireland again fail to deal with a kick-off and Spain have them under pressure. Spain knock on and Ireland have a scrum. They win a penalty off the scrum and O'Brien kicks to touch.
45 mins: Fantastic strike line by Grace Moore. Great response from Ireland.
45 mins: Try Ireland! Instant response from Ireland through Grace Moore. She bursts through the Spanish defensive line off a lineout.
44 mins: Lucky break for Ireland here. They have a lineout in the 22.
43 mins: Great response by Spain after Ireland gave them prime territory by not controlling the restart.
42 mins: Try for Spain! The centre Pena touches down. That all came from Ireland failing to control the kick-off. The conversion curves wide.
40 mins: Immediate attacking pressure from Spain. They inch it towards to Irish line through the forwards. The referee comes back for a penalty under the posts. Spain tap and go.
40 mins: The rain is coming down at Franklin's Gardens as the second half kicks off.
Half-time: Attritional first half from both sides. Good response from Ireland to close off the Spanish fightback in the first half. Great pressure from Moloney-MacDonald to force the turnover to close out the first half.
40 mins: Some Spain pressure inside the Ireland 22 ends with a penalty against the attacking side. O'Brien kicks to touch and it's half-time.
37 mins: Bonus point try secured by Ireland.
37 mins: Try for Ireland! Anna McGann this time. Good work from the Irish forwards sucks the in Spain defence. They go wide and the winger gets the try. Good response from Ireland after that Spain fightback levelled the game. O'Brien's conversion is missed.
36 mins: Hogan wins the lineout and Ireland go to the maul.
36 mins: Penalty for Ireland. They go down the line again.
34 mins: Great fight and power from Higgins to crash over between the posts.
34 mins: Try for Ireland! Eve Higgins goes over under the posts. Lots of effort from the Irish forwards and centre Higgins takes advantage, touching down with two Spanish players hanging off her. O'Brien kicks the conversion.

31 mins: Ireland have a penalty and kick to the corner. Very messy from Ireland at the lineout. They get lucky with a Spain knock on. Scrum for Ireland now on the Spanish five metre line.
29 mins: Ireland have a penalty and decide to take a shot at goal. They need to get points on the board after momentum shifted so much towards Spain but O'Brien's kick hits the post.
29 mins: Irish indiscipline giving Spain a foothold in the game.
27 mins: Try for Spain! Spain win the lineout, set the maul and go over in the corner. Hooker Marieta Roman Mallen gets the try. The conversion kick is superb. Spain are level. Super response to Ireland's fast start. Ireland under press now with Sam Monaghan off.
26 mins: Spain have Ireland under pressure again five metres from the line. The referee was playing advantage for a high tackle. Spain kick to the corner.
25 mins: Sam Monaghan's game is over. She was limping and is replaced by Brittany Hogan.
24 mins: Good patience from Spain to suck in the Irish defence with continuous pick and goes. Excellent finish by Perez on the wing.
22 mins: Try for Spain! Perez gets the try. That 50/22 game Spain great position. They were briefly camped on the Irish line under the posts but then go wide. A quite similar try to Costigan's minutes earlier. Spain not happy about Stacey Flood's run to block the conversion kick.
21 mins: A fantastic 50/22 from Spain.
21 mins: Ciara Griffin on Ireland's second try: Great set piece play from Ireland. Great composure from Moloney-MacDonald to Marshall at the back of the maul. Good pace from Scuffil-McCabe from the base of the ruck and Costigan scores in the corner.
20 mins: Try for Ireland! Costigan this time. Ireland work a maul off the lineout and then spread it wide to the other side of the pitch where Costigan touches down. O'Brien's conversion kicks goes wide to the right.
18 mins: Penalty for Ireland off a scrum. O'Brien kicks to touch. Ireland will have a lineout inside the Spain 22. Corri-Fallon claims the throw again.
17 mins: The clock is off with Ireland co-captain Sam Monaghan down injured. Thankfully, she's back on her feet and looks to be moving well.
15 mins: A brief period of Spain attacking pressure ends with a penalty for Ireland. They kick up the line and win the lineout through Corri-Fallon.
11 mins: A knock on from Flood gives Spain a good attacking platform on the Irish 10m.
10 mins: Great pressure from Costigan to pounce on Perez mistake. Ireland flooded the space and took full advantage. Seven points secured by O'Brien.
7mins: Try for Ireland! Dannah O'Brien touches town. The fleetfooted Costigan is all over some hesitancy in the Spain backfield. Ireland work it wide and O'Brien gets the try. She also kicks the conversion.
6 mins: Spain have the back field well covered to counteract the Irish kicking for territory tactic.

11:30am: Ireland have made seven changes for today's game from the side which defeated Japan in the opening round last weekend.
In the backs, Anna McGann comes in for Beibhinn Parsons on the wing while Molly Scuffil-McCabe will start at scrum-half.
The other five changes are in the pack. Ellena Perry will make her first start in a green jersey after two substitutes appearances, Cliodhna Moloney-MacDonald comes in at hooker, and Eimear Corri-Fallon in the second row.
Claire Boles comes into the back row while Grace Moore will start at No.8.
Siobhan McCarthy and Nancy McGillivray will make their World Cup bows off the bench at some point.
