The Ireland coach will have the experienced Edel McMahon back available in that back row department after she missed out on the defeat to England while centre Enya Breen is also back in the mix having missed the game against the reigning champions.

Ireland women’s head coach Scott Bemand has refused to be drawn on where Alex Codling’s duties will take him once the women’s World Cup in England is done and dusted at the back end of the summer.

Codling joined the women’s staff for the start of the current season as forwards coach and was then co-opted onto Munster’s interim ticket in a similar capacity in November after the shock announcement of Graham Rowntree’s departure as boss.
