Tadhg Beirne insists Munster’s heroic defeat of La Rochelle will count for nothing if his team fails to fire in Bordeaux this Saturday.
Their nail-biting 25-24 Champions Cup Round of 16 victory at Stade Marcel-Deflandre has set up a return trip to France this weekend with a quarter-final clash against top seeds Bordeaux-Bègles at Stade Chaban-Delmas on Saturday afternoon. That means producing at least similar performance levels against a team which outgunned Ulster 43-31 and by six tries to five the day after their epic battle with Ronan O'Gara's side.
