Tadhg Beirne: La Rochelle win means nothing without Bordeaux performance

Tadhg Beirne insists Munster’s heroic defeat of La Rochelle will count for nothing if his team fails to fire in Bordeaux this Saturday.

Their nail-biting 25-24 Champions Cup Round of 16 victory at Stade Marcel-Deflandre has set up a return trip to France this weekend with a quarter-final clash against top seeds Bordeaux-Bègles at Stade Chaban-Delmas on Saturday afternoon. That means producing at least similar performance levels against a team which outgunned Ulster 43-31 and by six tries to five the day after their epic battle with Ronan O'Gara's side.
