Lowe made his Irish debut during the covid pandemic behind closed doors when Ireland defeated Wales 32-9 in the Autumn Nations Cup. He became eligible to play for Ireland due to the then three-year residency rule. He has gone on to play 38 times for Ireland and won the Six Nations Grand Slam in 2023 and the Six Nations Championship in 2024.
The 32-year-old was named in the 2024 World Rugby Dream Team of the Year. Lowe joined Leinster ahead of the 2017-18 season and has made 85 appearances. He quickly became a fan favourite and won both the European Champions Cup and the Pro14 in his first season with the province.
