Munster captain and Irish lock Tadhg Beirne has signed a two-year contract extension with the IRFU and Munster after successful negotiations.

In a statement, the IRFU wrote: 'Since making his Test debut in green against Australia in 2018, Beirne has established himself as a key figure in Ireland’s engine room and his commitment to Irish Rugby for a further two years is a major boost heading towards Rugby World Cup 2027.
