Ireland v Scotland in the Six Nations: Kick-off time, TV details and team news

Ireland’s first road trip will bring them to Edinburgh where they will take on Scotland on Sunday, February 9. Ireland overcame England at the Aviva Stadium with Scotland getting a second half scare from Italy before securing a bonus point win. Both sides will be aiming to continue their winning starts as Ireland are going for three-in-a-row with Scotland hoping hoping to get their first Six Nations.Â
Here is all you need to know ahead of the game.
The game will take place at Scottish Gas Murrayfield, and this will be Ireland’s first of three away games in this year’s competition.
The game kicks-off at 3pm on Sunday February 9.
RTÉ Two will be broadcasting the match and their coverage starts at 2pm. RTÉ Radio also have live commentary while, as ever, the will have a liveblog providing updates on the best of the action as it happens.
New Zealand’s James Doleman will take charge of the game.
Simon Easterby has backed Thomas Clarkson to step up to the plate at Murrayfield this Sunday if Ireland’s two senior tighthead props fail to pass fit to face Scotland.
With Tadhg Furlong beset by continuing calf problems which caused him to miss Saturday’s Guinness Six Nations opener against England, Finlay Bealham started his fourth consecutive Test match at tighthead as Ireland kick-started their bid for a third title in a row with a bonus point victory at Aviva Stadium.
Yet with Bealham forced off with an ankle injury after 58 minutes of his 47th Test appearance and now a doubt for Edinburgh, and Tom O’Toole still suspended, the experience levels have dropped considerably with Leinster third-choice Clarkson next in line on the depth chart. Simon Lewis
