Former Munster and Ireland international Joey Carbery's debut for French side Bordeux Bègles was cut short after picking up a hand injury.
The 28-year-old left Munster for the Top 14 side at the end of last season.
Carbery started at out-half for Bordeaux's away trip to Lyon at Olympique Universitaire in their second round fixture scoring five points from a conversion and penalty in an impressive opening half.

His debut was curtailed by a hand injury and was replaced in the 41st minute by French International Matthieu Jalibert come on as his replacement.
Bordeaux's head coach Yannick Bru confirmed Carbery's injury in the post-match press conference and added that it was suspected that he suffered a fracture of his hand.
Lyon went on to win the tight game by two points, 28-26.
