Ronan O'Gara and La Rochelle have pulled off a major coup by securing the services of Racing 92's French international scrum-half Nolann Le Garrec.
22-year-old Le Garrec will remain at Stuart Lancaster's Racing 92 for the upcoming season, but will link up with O'Gara's side from the start of the 2025/26 season.
Exciting talent Le Garrec has excelled for the Parisian outfit in recent years and is very much seen as the heir to the Antoine Dupont-shaped throne within the French nine picture.
Having been called up by Fabien Galthié as a 20-year-old in 2022 for their summer tour of Japan, he would have to wait another two years for his Six Nations debut, coming off the bench to replace Maxime Lucu against Ireland, before playing a try-scoring role in the final two Championship fixtures, against England and Wales.
Dupont had been absent from Galthié's squad due to Olympic rugby sevens commitments, where he recently led his team to a gold medal in Paris.
“Nolann Le Garreç, who arrived at the Racing 92 training center in 2017 from RC Vannes, has just announced to us that he will join Stade Rochelais from the 2025/2026 season," a Racing statement read.
“The entire club and Nolann will be keen to close this joint adventure with Racing 92′s always strong ambition to win titles.”
