Antoine Frisch named in France squad for summer tour

Outgoing Munster player Antoine Frisch, who will join Toulon next season, has been named in the 42-MAN France squad for their upcoming summer tour matches against Argentina and Uruguay in July.

Frisch is one of 22 uncapped players Head Coach Fabien Galthié has included in the squad. France played against a Romania squad at the FFR's headquarters at Marcoussis on Saturday which the 28-year-old centre played a part in.

Frisch, who was born in France but qualified to play for Ireland through his grandmother was part of the Emerging Ireland tour to South Africa in 2022. He was not called up to Andy Farrell's senior squad for the Six Nations which opened the door for Galthié to extend an invite to the team during the tournament.

The squad is set to depart on June 26, two days before the Top 14 final which leaves out players from Toulouse, La Rochelle, Stade Francais and Bordeaux Bègles from the tour due to their involvement in the last four of the comeptition.

Scrum half Baptiste Serin is the most experience player within the squad with 44 caps for France. Jean Baptiste Gros is the second most experienced player going on the tour with just four other players named in the squad with more than 10 caps heading on the trip to South America.

France will play two Tests against Argentina on Saturday July 6 and Saturday July 13 whilst they will face a Test match against Uruguay on Wednesday July 10.
