Leinster have made an offer to former Les Bleus international Rabah Slimani according to reports in France.

The 34-year-old tighthead would replace Michael Ala’alatoa, who is heading for Slimani’s current club Clermont for next season.

With Slimani set to leave the French heavyweights at the end of the season, discussions are reportedly 'well underway'

His 57-cap international career ended after the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

"Leinster are today favorites to welcome Rabah Slimani into their squad" a report in Midi Olympique reads.

"A surprising but rather logical destination given the Irish squad next season."

Ed Byrne, Ross Molony, Jason Jenkins and Rhys Ruddock will all leave the eastern province at the end of the season, along with Alaalatoa.

Munster's Springbok RG Snyman and All Black icon Jordie Barrett have already been confirmed as blockbuster signings.
