For all his acclamation as a scrum-half from a distant planet inhabited by superior beings, Antoine Dupont had landed in London suffering from a chronic habit of getting on the wrong side of Leinster.
The tears he shed beneath Tottenham’s Golden Cockerell after winning a Champions’ Cup final like no other left a trail which can be traced all the way back to an autumn Sunday ten years ago when Castres gave their 17-year-old substitute a token run in a lost cause.
