Graham Rowntree has backed Billy Burns to be a great acquisition for Munster next season and says he wants the former Ireland fly-half to challenge Jack Crowley for the red number 10 jersey when he joins from Ulster.

The URC champions on Tuesday confirmed the signing of the 29-year-old for next season as they look to boost their out-half stocks following last summer’s exit of Ben Healy to Edinburgh and Joey Carbery’s departure this summer to Bordeaux-Begles.
