Mike Haley would rather not have spent the first five months of the season rehabbing a hip injury but as the Munster full-back prepares to continue his comeback from surgery against Zebre Parma on Friday night, he has accepted it was the best thing he could have done.

It was last summer that Haley, 29, and the Munster medics bit the bullet and sent him for the procedure to clean up a troublesome hip issue that had worsened over the course of the province’s run in to the URC title.
