France number 12 Jonathan Danty received a five week ban after appearing before an independent Disciplinary Committee today following his red card for an act of foul play in the game between France and Italy in the Guinness Six Nations on Sunday February 25. 

The independent Disciplinary Committee comprised of Jennifer Donovan - Chair (Ireland). Leon Lloyd (England) and Stefan Terblanche (South Africa) heard the case via video link and considered all the evidence and submissions from the player and his representatives.
