The Energia All Ireland League turned up right on cue to offer an enthralling showcase for Irish club rugby.

With no professional rugby on the slate on a down weekend, the AIL stepped boldly into the vacuum and delivered a brilliant advertisement for the amateur game as Division 1A’s top two teams duked it out in a seesaw contest that went right to the wire.
