RG Snyman is set to make a sensational switch from Munster to Leinster, according to reports.
The World Cup winner joined the southern province in 2020 in a blockbuster move but sufferred an ACL injury on his Munster debut and has been hampered by a series of injuries and setbacks since then.
The South African played a key role in the Spingboks' World Cup victory in France in recent months however.
Last month, Thomond Park chiefs confirmed that Snyman would move on at the end of the season after the completion of his contract.
This morning, the Irish Times' Gerry Thornley reports that the 28-year-old lock will join Leo Cullen's squad.
Donal Lenihan says the move -- though disappointing for Munster supporters -- is logical.
"If you think about it coldly, it makes a lot of sense," he told Morning Ireland.
"Jacques Nienaber, who is the South African World Cup-winning coach, he's obviously at Leinster now. He has massive time for Snyman.
"Snyman is a world-class player, featured in six of the seven World Cup games for South Africa.
"It's just been incredibly unfortunate for Munster that he's had so much injury. But I think Munster people will be really disappointed if he ends up in Leinster.
"But if I'm in that Leinster management group and you've got an opportunity of getting Snyman - think about it from his point of view, he wouldn't have to leave Ireland, his family I know love it in Limerick - it makes a lot of sense even if there'll be a sting to the tail, I think from a Munster perspective. He'd be a brilliant signing for Leinster."
Speaking on RTÉ 2FM earlier, former Munster forward Donncha O'Callaghan said Munster had been very good to the South African and the news would be 'gutting' if confirmed.
