Those calling for Ciaran Frawley to start last Sunday’s Champions Cup opener away to La Rochelle will get their wish six days later than hoped for when the Skerries man starts at out-half for the visit of Sale Sharks to Dublin.

Confirmation that Harry Byrne will sit out the next pool game as he progresses through return-to-play protocols, allied to the longer-term absence of his older brother Ross, leaves Frawley as the next man up in the queue.
