Sheehan was one of five Irish World Cup players in the starting XV along with Ross Byrne, Jimmy O’Brien, Joe McCarthy and Ryan Baird, and their influence was huge on an awful day to play positive rugby.

Dan Sheehan turned into ‘Captain Fantastic’ in his first game in charge of Leinster as he scored the opening try, made another and saw his side home to a bonus-point win on the road that moved them level on points with the top two teams.
