One chapter closes and another opens hot on its heels. For Mike Prendergast there was a swift turning of the pages once Peter O’Mahony and Keith Earls lifted the URC trophy in Cape Town, ending Munster’s 12-year quest for silverware.

While the attack coach was overjoyed for his native province, the players under his wing and the faithful supporters who had endured that lack of success, the bringing to an end of an all-consuming drought was, on a personal level, an opportunity to move up another gear.
