Plenty to work on as Ireland squad returns to camp after mini break

Simon Easterby said the break, with players allowed to spend time away from camp with their families following last Saturday’s titanic scrap with the Springboks, had come at a perfect time.

Ireland went back to work yesterday with a reminder there is still plenty of scope for improvement ahead of their World Cup Pool B finale against Scotland a week tomorrow.

The Irish team management welcomed a full complement of 33 fit players back at their Stade de la Chambrerie training complex following a much-needed break from camp life which followed last Saturday’s impressive 13-8 pool victory over defending champions South Africa in Paris. There is little debate that Andy Farrell’s squad is in an extremely strong place right now, injury free and on a 16-Test winning run that includes three form three here in France over the past three weeks.
