Tommy O’Donnell returns to training as rehab continues on hip injury

Tommy O'Donnell returned to training with Munster today as he steps-up his return from the dislocated hip that prevented him from taking part in Ireland's World Cup campaign.

The flanker is continuing his rehab programme and is still unable to return to contact work as the province's medical staff cope with a hefty injury list at the moment.

Conor Murray sat-out training today with a foot injury but the scrum-half is still hoping to be available for Saturday's Pro12 derby against Connacht.

Hooker Mike Sherry and utility back Tyler Bleyendaal are expected to return to training early next week, while flanker Jordan Coghlan is hoping to recover from an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, Munster have also confirmed that Peter O'Mahony and Duncan Casey both had successful operations late last week and the pair are now focusing on their return to action in the new year.
