VIDEO: Jamie Heaslip blown away by 'sea of green' in Cardiff

Ireland number eight Jamie Heaslip appeared overwhelmed by the support of the fans at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff this evening.

Speaking after Ireland’s brilliant but costly win, Heaslip struggled to hear the interviewer over the chants of the largely Irish crowd.

“We knew it was going to be a physical game,” he said. “We made that commitment to each other and we’re just delighted with the win.

Heaslip said the support of the fans was what motivated the team, and he called on the green army to stay behind their team.

“This kind of crowd, I dunno how many Irish are here, it seems like it’s a full house. We just wanted to play for everyone here, and for family and friends and everyone back at home.

“We’ve got a massive game in seven days and hopefully this sea of green comes back out again.”

We think it’s safe to say they will Jamie!
