Ruddock out for up to six weeks

Leinster have confirmed that flanker Rhys Ruddock suffered a broken arm in Saturday’s Champions Cup clash with Harlequins and will miss the Christmas period as a result.

Ruddock left the field injured during the second half and was pictured after the match with his arm in a sling.

Team manager Guy Easterby confirmed today the player had suffered a break.

“Rhys broke his arm,” Easterby said. “It looks like he will be out for about four to six weeks.”

He said Ruddock was the only serious injury from the weekend.

“There are bumps and bruises around the camp but nothing else significant and anyone who is sore from the weekend should be available,” he said.

“Last year we had a really good year where we didn’t pick up as many injuries as we had this year, that is just the way it goes sometimes."

Leinster meet Connacht in the PRO12 on Friday night before playing Munster later on in the month and Ulster in early January 2015.
