Munster have signed Australian centre Andrew Smith on a one-year deal for next season.

Munster have signed Australian centre Andrew Smith on a one-year deal for next season.

The 29-year-old is currently involved with Super 15 side the Brumbies where former Munster forwards coach Laurie Fisher is the director of rugby.

Denis Hurley and Johne Murphy have both signed one-year contract extensions that will see them remain with the province and the IRFU until June 2015.

Meanwhile, Connacht have signed Ian Porter and Shane O'Leary on two-year and one-year deals respectively, and 26-year-old scrumhalf Ian Porter joins from Ulster where he has been a part of the professional set up for three seasons.

O'Leary, who was born in Cork and raised in Co Clare, signed with FC Grenoble's Academy last summer straight from AIL side Young Munster.
