Lansdowne notched their ninth try-scoring bonus point in 15 Ulster Bank League matches as they stormed past hosts UL Bohemians at Annacotty.

After today’s five-try success in Limerick, Lansdowne are 19 points clear of second-placed Clontarf who have four games left to play.

Mike Ruddock’s men are just one more result away from being crowned champions, and that could come on Easter Saturday when they host ‘Tarf in a televised clash.

After such a promising start to the Division 1A campaign, the wheels have well and truly come off the UL Bohemians band wagon and they remain prime contenders for relegation.

Indiscipline cost them dearly in this contest and they conceded penalties in the 12th, 16th and 18th minutes, the first two for going in from the side of a ruck.

Craig Ronaldson, the division's leading points scorer, landed all three and worse followed for bottom side Bohs when their Munster squad member JJ Hanrahan was shown a yellow card.

Inside centre Simon Morrissey grabbed the game's opening try while Hanrahan was in the bin and he was just back on the pitch when out-half Ronaldson went over for a try which he converted himself.

Four minutes before the interval, UL suffered another major blow when flanker Ian Condell was sent to the sin-bin and a try by young scrum half Marcus Walsh, who broke from a ruck, had Lansdowne 28-0 in front at the interval.

Seven minutes into the second half Lansdowne were awarded a penalty try which replacement Ed Torrie, a former UL Bohs player, converted after Ronaldson was forced off through injury.

It was all of 55 minutes before number 8 Sean Rennisson mustered a try for the home side which Ben Martin converted.

Lansdowne had the final say with a smashing team try scored by Rennison's opposite number Ron Boucher, which Torrie again converted to send the headquarters club on their merry way.

Scorers:

UL Bohemians: Try: Sean Rennison; Con: Ben Martin

Lansdowne: Tries: Simon Morrissey, Craig Ronaldson, Marcus Walsh, Penalty try, Ron Boucher; Cons: Craig Ronaldson 2, Ed Torrie 2; Pens: Craig Ronaldson 3
