Injuries add to Leinster worries after Scarlets defeat
Leinster’s disappointing start to the new season, a 45-20 defeat to the Scarlets, was compounded today with news of several fresh injury concerns.
Isaac Boss and Dominic Ryan are both looking doubtful for the visit of the Dragons to the RDS on Saturday (6.15pm).
Ireland scrum-half Boss sat out training today after hyper-extending his elbow during the first half in Llanelli and he will continue to be monitored by the medical team ahead of Friday’s midday team announcement.
Ryan, meanwhile, rolled over his right ankle and underwent a scan this morning with results not yet available.
Hookers Richardt Strauss felt the effects of a stinger injury last weekend while Aaron Dundon sustained a cut above his left eye which required stitches and wing Fionn Carr took a knock to the nose but the management remain hopeful that all three will be available this weekend.
Leo Cullen and Quinn Roux are set to be added to the panel after Tom Denton made his senior bow for the province when he came off the bench in Llanelli
Ian Madigan also became the latest player to pass the half century mark.
It is anticipated that the international contingent will be available for selection over rounds three and four of the PRO12.
