Injury worry for Ulster's Marshall

Ulster scrum half Paul Marshall is at risk of missing the province’s Heineken Cup semi-final clash with Edinburgh after picking up an arm injury against Connacht on Saturday.

An ultrasound scan has revealed that Marshall has sustained some tendon damage to his right elbow.

Marshall suffered the injury in the act of scoring Ulster’s first try in their 26-21 defeat at the Sportsground.

The energetic scrum half has been used as an impact substitution throughout the season with first choice number nine Ruan Pienaar usually moving to flyhalf.

Ulster remain hopeful that Marshall will pull through in time for the European showdown on April 28 but according to a statement on the team’s website it is a case of 'wait and see', with treatment and re-assessment ongoing.
