The Federazione Italiana Rugby (FIR) has today announced that is has revoked the Aironi licence to participate the RaboDirect Pro12, due to financial pressure.
The FIR have started a procedure to form a new franchise to participate in next year's competition.
Aironi will honour all fixtures until the end of the current season.
