Felix Jones restored to Munster squad
Felix Jones and Christy Condon were today added to Munster's Heineken Cup squad.
24-year old Jones has endured a frustrating 5 months having picked up a foot ligament injury playing for Ireland against France last August.
With Tony McGahan’s injury problems mounting, the Aussie and his management staff decided to de-register recently retired John Hayes and Peter Stringer, who is currently on loan at Saracens, from their Heineken Cup squad to accommodate the inclusion of Jones and Condon.
The move doesn’t represent an immediate return to action for the full back however, with Jones’ rehabilitation expected to keep him out of contention until February.
The inclusion of Dolphin prop Christy Condon suggests McGahan feels the need to strengthen his front row options with Darragh Hurley ruled out until April.
Niall Ronan, David Wallace, Denis Leamy, Jerry Flannery and Doug Howlett are just some of the big names currently unavailable for selection as Munster look to ensure a home quarter-final against the Saints this weekend.
There is a further opportunity for Munster to add players ahead of the quarter finals.
