Wasps snap up Mayor

Wasps have announced the signing of former Northampton and Sale Sharks centre Chris Mayor.

Mayor will return to the Aviva Premiership following a stint with Italian club Parma.

He said: “I’ve had a great experience with a developing team in Parma over the last year, having wanted to spend a season in a totally different environment.

“I feel I have a good few years left in me at Premiership level. Wasps is a great club with a strong heritage, and I am looking forward to being part of a new era there.”

Wasps, meanwhile, have recruited Doncaster prop Lewis Thiede to their academy, while England Under-18 international Simon McIntyre joins from Sale.
