Bohemians best Clontarf to keep promotion hopes alive
Clontarf 15 UL Bohemians 20
An already promoted Clontarf side slipped to a 20-15 defeat at the hands of UL Bohemians at Castle Avenue today.
Clontarf, who wore specially-designed pink jerseys to support the Irish Cancer Society and Action Breast Cancer, had built a 15-7 advantage by half-time.
Backs Killian Lett and Martin Dufficy helped themselves to tries, with the latter kicking five points.
But Bohs kept alive their slim promotion hopes with a much-improved second half display.
Winger Darren Moroney skipped away to grab their first try before the break, and centre David Moloney and full-back Ed Torrie also touched down as Bohs turned the screw.
JJ Hanrahan, back on club duty after his exploits with the Ireland Under-20s, added a penalty to his earlier conversion.
The result represents UL's fifth win in their last six Ulster Bank League games and leaves them three points behind third-placed Buccaneers, who currently occupy the promotion/relegation play-off spot.
UL are away to Galway in their final game next Saturday, while Buccs must travel to the Aviva Stadium to take on second-placed Lansdowne.
