Ulster coach Brian McLaughlin has named an extended squad ahead of Saturday’s crucial Heineken Cup game against Bath at the Rec. (kick-off 1.30pm)

Ulster emerged from a bruising match 22-16 winners last weekend and if the northern province can gain victory this Saturday then qualification from pool four, for the first time since 1999, is a very distinct possibility.

McLaughlin has no major injury worries although Darren Cave is still missing due to a hamstring strain. Jamie Smith, who missed last weekend’s game, returns and will challenge rugby league recruit Adam D’Arcy for the full back spot.

Irish internationals Stephen Ferris, Andrew Trimble, Tom Court, Dan Touhy and Paddy Wallace are all included.

The starting team and replacements will be named on Friday.

Ulster: Tom Court, Declan Fitzpatrick, Paddy McAllister, Bryan Young, BJ Botha, Nigel Brady, Andi Kyriacou, Tim Barker, Dan Tuohy, Johann Muller, Ryan Caldwell, Willie Faloon, Pedrie Wannenburg, Stephen Ferris, Chris Henry, Robbie Diack, Adam D’Arcy, David McIlwaine, Jamie Smith, Simon Danielli, Andrew Trimble, Paddy Wallace, Nevin Spence, Ian Whitten, Ian Humphreys, Niall O’Connor, Ruan Pienaar, Paul Marshall
