Schmidt names side for Scarlets trip
Leinster coach Joe Schmidt has today named his side for Friday night’s Magners League clash with the Scarlets at Parc y Scarlets in Wales (kick-off: 7.05pm).
Gordon D’Arcy is one of three returning Ireland internationals named in the starting line-up, with Eoin Reddan resuming his half-back partnership with Jonathan Sexton.
D’Arcy partners Eoin O’Malley at centre with Fergus McFadden switching to the wing in a back three which again includes Shane Horgan and Isa Nacewa.
Mike Ross, who was overlooked by the Ireland management for the Autumn internationals, starts in a pack containing a mix of youth and experience.
Devin Toner, who won his first Irish cap against Samoa this month, starts in the second row alongside skipper Leo Cullen, with Rhys Ruddock forming an exciting looking back-row alongside Dominic Ryan and Sean O’Brien.
Shaun Berne, Nathan Hines and Shane Jennings provide experienced options from the bench.
