Injured Munster captain Paul O'Connell has revealed that he has acted as waterboy during a recent training camp whilst recovering from injury – a role he is anxious to abandon.

“I found it hard watching the lads training, especially when we were in La Manga and the lads were training really hard and I was basically a waterboy for the week,” the tough-tackling Limerickman said at the recent launch of the Heineken Cup competition.

“I found that tough.

“I just had to grin and bear it, hope the rest does you good and you come back a better player.”

Meanwhile, Leinster coach Joe Schmidt has admitted that his side face a tough task to qualify.

“We’re going to be playing the leaders of the Top 14,” said Schmidt. “The Top 14 dominated the Heineken Cup last year, so we’re under no illusions at all about how tough it’s going to be.”
