Kevin McLaughlin muted Leinster’s Heineken Cup quarter-final victory celebrations by insisting they must improve if they are to retain their crown.

The champions edged Clermont Auvergne 29-28 in a roller-coaster of a contest that culminated in a heart-stopping and incident-packed final quarter at the RDS.
