Ireland have refused to rule Denis Leamy out of next Saturday’s match against South Africa.

Leamy has undergone X-rays and scans of the right ankle he injured during yesterday’s victory over Fiji.

However, the Irish Rugby Football Union tonight revealed the injury is less serious then at first thought. The player will undergo rehabilitation this week, but has not been ruled out of next weekend’s encounter.

Meanwhile, The Irish management have added nine players to the squad which defeated Fiji yesterday - Tommy Bowe, Darren Cave, Gavin Duffy, Cian Healy, Kevin McLaughlin, Ronan O’Gara, Devin Toner, Dan Touhy and David Wallace.
