The IRFU has appointed a new doctor to the Irish rugby team.

Dr Eanna Falvey succeeds Gary O'Driscoll, who left earlier this year to work at the Emirates Stadium with Arsenal and on the Lions tour to South Africa.

Dr Falvey, a former international amateur boxer, spent four years as Munster team doctor before finishing his sports medicine studies in Australia.

He is the director of sports medicine at the Sports Surgery Clinic in Dublin and has already been working with the Ireland squad during the recent pre-season camps.
