Exiles sign Warwick

London Irish have announced the capture of Munster’s Australian back Paul Warwick on a three-year contract.

Warwick will link up with the Exiles for the start of next season, having agreed a deal that will keep him in the Guinness Premiership until 2012.

Warwick, a full-back or fly-half, has scored more than 200 points for Munster in 33 appearances, and has been part of their march into this season’s Heineken Cup quarter-finals.

London Irish head coach Toby Booth said: “Quality not quantity has been the philosophy underlying our recruitment policy, so when the opportunity came to sign a top-class player like Paul Warwick we jumped at the chance.

“Paul is a match-winning player whose performances at fly-half and full-back speak for themselves. He is a welcome addition as we continue to build a world-class squad at London Irish.”
