Foley to say his farewell at Musgrave
Anthony Foley will captain the Munster team to face Glasgow Warriors in what will be his final appearance for the side in Ireland.
Munster complete their Magners League campaign on Saturday evening and with Foley retiring from rugby at the end of the season this game will serve as his farewell to the supporters.
The former Heineken Cup winning captain will, of course, be hoping to be involved in the Millennium Stadium on May 24, but having missed out on the 22 for the semi-final win over Saracens, any involvement beyond this weekend is far from certain.
The talismanic number eight recently played in his 200th game for Munster will captain the side at Musgrave Park on Saturday, kick-off 5pm.
Newly appointed Ireland head coach Declan Kidney has named a strong 26-man squad for the final warm-up game before the Heineken Cup final.
All the big hitters are included in the squad but, interestingly, there is also room for Anthony Horgan, who impressed in recent outings against Llanelli Scarlets and Ulster.
With two weeks to go to the Heineken Cup final against Toulouse, following Saturday night’s game Kidney is likely to field close to his starting line-up against the Warriors.
He will also be mindful of keeping players out of harm’s way however as he bids to leave Munster on a high.
There is still a fierce battle raging for places on the match 22 for the Heineken Cup Final and all will want to impress and stake their claims on Saturday night.
