Former Wigan centre David Vaealiki has been released by Manly Sea Eagles to enable him to take up the offer of a two-year contract with a French rugby union club.

The ex-New Zealand international returned to the National Rugby League in the winter after three seasons with Wigan but has played just two games for the Sea Eagles.

“He goes with our best wishes,” said Manly chief executive Grant Mayer. “He has a young family and this deal will be a benefit financially for him.”
