Promising Wasps hooker Rob Webber has been rewarded for an impressive breakthrough season with a new two-year deal.

Promising Wasps hooker Rob Webber has been rewarded for an impressive breakthrough season with a new two-year deal.

Webber, a versatile England Under-21 international, has made 10 appearances for Wasps so far this season including a man-of-the-match performance in the back row against Bath in December.

Webber, who originally hails from Yorkshire, joined Wasps three years ago and has signed on until the end of the 2010 season.

Director of rugby Ian McGeechan said: “We are delighted that Rob will be staying at Wasps for another two years.

“His progression since he joined us has been very encouraging, and highlights the benefits of the system of development we have for young players here at Wasps.

“He is a very ambitious player and we believe he has a got a big future ahead of him.”
