New Zealand full-back Mils Muliaina is a doubt for the World Cup encounter with Scotland after picking up a hamstring injury in the victory over Portugal.

The Waikato star lasted just five minutes of the 108-13 rout of the minnows in Lyon and could be sidelined for at least a week.

The All Blacks face Frank Hadden’s side next Sunday at Murrayfield in their penultimate Pool C match.

“I probably stayed on a bit too long,” Muliaina said

“It happened in the first minute. I have had a few tweaks this year and so have not played much rugby that’s why I was so keen to play.

“But it wasn’t fair that the team carry me so I made the call to come off and I now just have to get into the rehab.

“It’s a little sore at the moment but hopefully by Monday I will be in better shape.”
