Geordan Murphy will start Ireland’s final World Cup warm-up trying to put a four-year-old heartbreak to the back of his mind.

The versatile Leicester back will be on the wing against Italy tomorrow night at Ravenhill, hoping to avoid a repeat of the pre-World Cup match against Scotland in 2003 when he was carried from the field with a broken leg which ruled him out of the tournament in Australia.
