Connacht have announced a 27-man squad ahead of their Magners League clash with Cardiff Blues at the Sportsground on Saturday (kick off 6.30pm).

Connacht have announced a 27-man squad ahead of their Magners League clash with Cardiff Blues at the Sportsground on Saturday (kick off 6.30pm).

The squad shows call-ups for both Connacht members of the Ireland U20 grand slam-winning side, Aidan Wynne and Andrew Browne. This will be the first time both Ireland U20 players have been included in a squad before a competitive senior match for the province and after the success they experienced during the Six Nations, will be eager to stake their claim for a place on the senior side.

Matt Mostyn has also been included in the squad, having recovered sufficiently from his ankle injury sustained in the previous clash between these two sides in November, while scoring a try.

Connacht squad: Andrew Browne, Gavin Duffy, Peter Durcan, Andrew Farley, Adrian Flavin, John Fogarty, David Gannon, John Hearty, Ray Hogan, Chris Keane, Stephen Knoop, David McGowan, Mark McHugh, Conor McPhillips, Matt Mostyn, John Muldoon, Ray Ofisa, Colm Rigney, Daniel Riordan, David Slemen, Ryan Strudwick, Brett Sturgess, Michael Swift, Paul Warwick, Brett Wilkinson, Aidan Wynne, Darren Yapp.

Not considered due to injury: Keith Matthews (knee), Ronan Loughney (knee), Brendan O’Connor (arm), Ted Robinson (hamstring), Tom Tierney (ankle), Gavin Williams (hamstring).
