Shannon and UL Bohemians meet on Saturday March 3 for their AIB League Division 1 game, at 2.30pm, in a fixture that will the last ever played at Thomond Park before it undergoes re-development.

Shannon are currently placed second in the AIB League Division 1 table, behind current league leaders Cork Constitution, whilst the students enjoy third place on the table.

The last time the clubs met in the AIB League was in November 2005, and on that occasion Shannon overcame UL Bohemians on a tantalising score line of 33-3. However the clubs most recently went head to head for the 2006 Limerick Charity Cup, in a game that saw Shannon lose 10-18 to UL. No doubt Shannon will be eager to avenge that result on Saturday.

UL enjoy the best Munster clubs record playing AIB League fixtures at home to other Munster clubs, having won 15 of their last 20 games, whilst Shannon are seeking their 16th victory in 20 AIB League fixtures in Munster.
