Leinster/Wasps game to be played at Adams Park
London Wasps will play Leinster at Adams Park in the Heineken Cup quarter-final, following consultation with the club's coaches, players and supporters, rather than go for a big earner at a bigger stadium.
Director of Rugby Ian McGeechan said: "We are delighted that the board have decided to keep the game at our Adams Park ground. This game represents the team's biggest challenge so far this season and we want to make sure that the home draw feels like a real advantage to the players.
"We are counting on a big presence from the Wasps supporters and so I recommend you all get your tickets early and make a real difference in getting behind the team on the day."
London Wasps chief executive David Davies said: 'Like Ian, I am very pleased that we are choosing to stay at our regular home stadium, Adams Park, for this game.
"Sadly, this does mean there will be disappointed supporters unable to attend the match, but we will nevertheless be able to accommodate all our season ticket-holders, should they wish to purchase a ticket.
"We are currently working hard with Wycombe Wanderers Football Club, with whom we share the ground, and Wycombe District Council to plan and make available extended and improved catering and entertainment facilities for supporters before and after the game.
"We aim to make this a truly memorable occasion for all those who will be lucky enough to attend.
"Despite the restrictions of the smaller capacity at Adams Park, we will work hard to make the best financial returns we can from the game. We believe our decision to stay here will allow us to get the full benefit of our home advantage in this hugely important game for the team."
