France delay squad announcement

France have delayed the naming of their squad for their first Six Nations clash against Italy because of injury problems.

The party will now be named on Sunday morning to allow the team management to assess any further fitness worries from this weekend’s domestic action.

“There are too many uncertainties,” said France team manager Jo Maso.

“There’s no point in naming a squad now if we have to change it in two days.”

France visit the Italian capital on February 3.
