Perpignan wait for quarter-final place
Perpignan finished second in Heineken Cup Pool One with a 45-25 home win over Benetton Treviso but had to wait to see if they had done enough to secure a quarter-final place.
The French side were always in control against their Italian opponents but only led 14-10 at half-time and needed other results to go for them to finish as one of the best runners-up to make the quarter-finals.
Steve Meyer kicked five conversions for Perpignan as the home side touched down through Guillaime Bortolaso, Viliami Vaki, Ovidu Tonita, Jean-Philippe Grandclaude, Pascal Bomati, Sylvain Dupuy and Christophe Manas
Treviso replied with tries from Enrico Pavanello (2) and Massimiliano Perziano. Andrea Marcato kicked two conversions and two penalties.
