High-scoring McPhillips makes mark for Galwegians

Conor McPhillips took his try tally to six in eight league games as he dotted down twice in Galwegians’ comprehensive home win over Dolphin.

McPhillips and Welsh centre Nick Wakely both scored a brace of tries in the seven-try success. Connacht flanker Matt Lacey, prop Denis O’Brien and Australian flyer Anthony Barrett were also on target for the westerners.

‘Wegians had their bonus point chalked up by the interval as they led 28-0 with Wakely converting all four tries.

Dolphin hit back late on when lock Dave Harty and substitute Dave Griffin crossed the hosts’ whitewash.
